What makes this book different and unique?

Foreword
Who among us has not wondered, “where do I come from, and where does this world come from? Why am I here? and where will I go after I die?”
Based on these key questions about our existence, we attempt in the present book to explore, from the Islamic perspective, how a harmonic relationship between man and the universe exists, and how a balance between the needs of the soul and the needs of the body is established. The reasons for inner peace and spiritual tranquility, as rooted in Islam, will also be closely examined.
This book is not a crash course on Islam, for there are already many; on the contrary, here the reader will be provided with a profound insight into the structure and way of reasoning of Islam, whereby emphasis will be laid on the “Why?”, as well as on the “How?”
The following brief description of the chapters represents only part of the subject-matters handled, and serves to convey a first impression.
In addition to exploring the key questions posed above in Chapters 1 and 2, and part of Chapter 5, the book conveys a detailed description of paradise (Janna) in Islam.
Chapter 3 highlights what kind of person Muhammad was, and how he treated children, women, and non-Muslims around him. Through the latter, one discovers how he managed to obtain such great influence on the history of the world and billions of people.
Chapter 4 addresses the question of what the Quran is, and how it has been identically preserved, down to the very last letter, for over 1400 years, in each and every single one of its copies.
The position of Islam about controversial topics such as sex, sin and violence is explored in Chapter 5, which also provides an explanation of aging and death. It will also be explained why God allows injustice and sorrow, while being considered merciful and just at the same time. Here we will also discover the deeper meaning of prayer in Islam, and we will also find out the reasons for their chronological shifting.
In the sixth and final chapter, the topics that currently dominate the image of Islam in the media will be taken up and discussed. These issues will be explained and defined using Islam’s original sources – the Quran, Sunnah (Prophet Muhammad’s sayings and living habits) and Sharia (Islamic Law). Additionally, the everyday application of these issues in Muslim societies throughout history will be discussed. Here, the position of women in Islam will be addressed first, followed by the relation between freedom, civilization and Islam as a state system.
The position of Islam towards other religions and the interaction of Muslims with religious minorities throughout history will also be described. Finally, the Jihad and its plural meanings will be illustrated.
